BOSS ![]() For someone with not much of a college life, i find bidding for courses as part of the package of an exciting college life. Posted by hui at 12:18 AM (1) comment(s) Sunday, November 05, 2006 A date with richness : The after It was just as expected, a chi-chi dining experience surrounded by wannabes (but not my friends:p). It was such a painful experience to see how one of those wannabes carefully takes out a parcel from her Coach bag, then from the little beige felt parcel, she meticulously unveil a LV wallet. It was exasperating and at the same time amusing watching how people spends unnecessary on a brand and be a slave to it. Back to our dinner. The Caesar salad was a simple affair, there is nothing fancy about it and they are extremely miser with the croutons. The only thing worth mentioning is that they added genuine crab meat, so that kind of makes up for the only-1-crouton-per-dish issue. The Caesar salad served by Toast (another restaurant by Marmalade group) fares much better than Marmalade Pantry. We went there for the Pudding and thus the linguini was a pleasant "side-dish" to have. Decent proportion served, which is enough to fill stomach of a girl who is not on diet. But it was a huge mistake to have the Linguini after the Salad. Both dishes are showered with the seeds and a tad too much was found in the Linguini, resulting in an over-dosage of sunflower seed. It goes well with the sauce but the lingering after taste was dreadful. We can only down more water and wait for the desert to clear the mouth off the taste. When it comes to the finale dish, the main dish, the reason we are here, it was heavenly. The pudding, though some would say it is more like a cake, was moist and warm. It reminded me of a good carrot cake (ang-moh ones), but without the fibrous carrot. Instead it was replaced by strands of dates. This is a dish for the sweet-tooth or one who craves for a sugar rush. The Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice-cream together with the date pudding and a dash of caramel was just ahhhhhhhhhh. . . yummy. . . ![]() If I ever visit the place again, it will be for the Pudding!!!! Fyi Wei it was not the Chinese date la. think the dates for breaking-fast during ramadan :> Labels: date pudding, marmalade group, marmalade pantry Posted by hui at 12:03 AM (1) comment(s) |
